BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Brandon Labiner, the man accused of shooting and killing his father over the weekend in Boca Raton, lied to the Palm Beach County Jail, a lie uncovered by BocaNewsNow.com. The lie could lead to additional charges against murder suspect.

In the hours after he was arrested for the brutal killing of his father — attorney Paul S. Labiner — Brandon Labiner told the Palm Beach County Jail that his booking photo must remain private under Florida Statute 119. Labiner claimed that he was once a Federal Judge, a Federal Magistrate Judge, or worked as a federal prosecutor. Those positions can lead to exemptions of Florida’s public record law. But BocaNewsNow.com learned that Labiner, 34, never held any of those positions and, in fact, was disbarred at the time of his arrest.

Labiner exemption
Brandon Labiner lied on this form, claiming that he was a federal prosecutor, judge, or magistrate judge. He never held any of these positions.

Sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that the Palm Beach County Jail, the State Attorney’s Office, and other agencies worked to verify BocaNewsNow.com’s information and did. The booking photo was released around 6:20 p.m. on Thursday and sources confirm that additional charges may be filed against Labiner who signed a notarized form stating that he held a job that he never did.

Questions are also being asked about Labiner’s attorney, Val Rodriquez, and whether or not he instructed his client to knowingly perjure himself. Rodriquez did not respond to a request for information from BocaNewsNow.com. Labiner is being held without bond. Whether additional charges are filed will ultimately be decided by the office of Palm Beach County State Attorney David Aronberg.
