BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton Condominium Owners Association wants to foreclose on a home that owes $7600 in late maintenance fees.
The “Patios Of Boca Barwood Condominium Association” claims that Robin Laznick, who lives in the community, has out an outstanding balance for months, and that despite lawyer letters and other attempts to collect, she has refused to pay. The actual total outstanding balance, according to a legal filing obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, is now $7611.18.
Of the money owed, the condo association says $1,025 is for its lawyer, $100 is for its management company, $26.58 is for mail, and $250 is a “late fee.” The problems apparently started when a payment of $670 per month stopped being received by the COA beginning in June of 2022.
Condo Associations (and Homeowner Associations) have broad authority to foreclose on homes in Florida that have any late payment whatsoever. When a homeowner buys a home in a community with an association, they are agreeing to follow all rules and regulations of that community — and pay any fee assessed.
