PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A woman is in custody Friday after the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says she stabbed a nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Palms West Hospital. PBSO issued this statement to BocaNewsNow.com.

Deputies responded to a stabbing at Palms West Hospital. Upon arrival, deputies learned that the suspect, Kendra Greene, entered the NICU unit and removed her three-day-old infant from the ventilator.

As she was attempting to leave the hospital with the infant, several hospital staff members attempted to intervene. Kendra produced a knife and ultimately injured three staff members. Kendra dropped the infant off to a family member and fled before Deputies arrived.

The infant was transported back to Palms West by PBCFR where it is reported she is in stable condition.   All three staff members received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and were discharged the same evening.
