BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — An apparent employee of the West Palm Beach police department is dead following a one-car, overnight accident in Boynton Beach. The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. Sources say the vehicle caught on fire with one unidentified victim inside. This is the statement issued by Boynton Beach Police to BocaNewsNow.com.

“This morning just after 2:30 A.M. the Boynton Beach Police Department responded to a crash at the intersection of Hypoluxo Road and Lawrence Road. The vehicle involved was a marked West Palm Beach Police vehicle, which tragically caught fire after the collision. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle succumbed to the injuries sustained in the crash, however their identity has not been confirmed.

Our Traffic Homicide Investigators are currently working diligently to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident. During this profoundly difficult time, our thoughts, prayers, and sincerest condolences go out to the family and friends of the victim, as well as the West Palm Beach Police Department.”
