DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A resident of the G.L. Homes community of Dakota near U.S. 441 and Atlantic Avenue in West Delray Beach is facing a strangulation charge Sunday afternoon.
Records obtained by BocaNewsNow.com reveal that Marcus Enrique Barbosa Paniagua of the 9500 block fo Brook Isles Avenue in Delray Beach was arrested Sunday and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 1:26 p.m. He remained behind bars just before 6 p.m. Sunday. (UPDATE: He was released around 1:49 p.m. on Monday, September 4, 2023).
The Palm Beach County Jail tells BocaNewsNow.com that Barbosa-Paniagua is officially charged with “battery — commit domestic battery by strangulation.” It was not immediately clear who he is accused of strangling, when the strangulation allegedly took place, the condition of the alleged strangulation victim, or where the alleged strangulation occurred.
Bond had not been set as of Sunday evening. Marcus Enrique Barbosa-Paniagua does not have a criminal history in Palm Beach County, according to the Palm Beach County Clerk of Courts.
