DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Beer, cocaine, a hot tub, and unsurprisingly — a gun — are all part of the murder investigation now underway after a Delray Beach man was killed in an oceanfront condo on Wednesday. BocaNewsNow.com obtained the entire police report filed by the Delray Beach Police Department. It is lengthy, but we are publishing it so readers can understand what detectives were finding — and dealing with — as they investigated the apparent murder of Albert Camentz.
POLICE REPORT: On September 13, 2023, at approximately 0300 hours the Palm Beach Fire Rescue and Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office (PBSO case number 23109564) responded to 6230 Petunia Rd. for a male subject, later identified as Albert Camentz, who was possibly suffering from a cardiac arrest. PBSO advised that the subject appeared to be suffering from either a stabbing or gunshot wound to the chest. Camentz was transported by PBC to the Delray Medical Center (DMC) where he was pronounced deceased at 0329 hours. DMC medical staff determined Camentz had a gunshot wound to the chest. I responded to DMC and met with Camentz’s friend, Jack Feinberg. Feinberg initially stated that he followed PBCPR to DC to check up on Cament and to bring Cament his phone and shoes. Feinberg stated that he suffers from a cognitive impairment, and he has poor memory recollection. Feinberg stated that he remembers being at a bar earlier in the night in Boca Raton called Fat Cats. Feinberg remembers leaving the bar and going to an apartment complex next to hotels near the ocean in Delay Beach. Feinberg stated that he was going to the hot tub in the complex when he heard a loud bang. Feinberg remembers laughing and Camentz asking him why he was laughing. I then notified Feinberg that Camentz was deceased, and he was conducting a homicide investigation. Feinberg stated that Cament was saying “I don’t want to go to the hospital. I just want to lie down I’m having trouble breathing.” Feinberg stated that 911 was then called. Feinberg could not recall where he was and kept attributing his lack of recollection to his cognitive disorder. Feinberg was hesitant in providing any information on where this incident occurred and was not forthcoming with information needed to help with the investigation. Feinberg then stated he wanted to speak to a lawyer and did not want to provide any statement. Feinberg was advised he was free to go, and he ordered a car service back to the residence.

I then responded to 6230 Petunia Rd. Upon arrival, Feinberg mas already on scene. Peinberg was yelling at his wife, Susan Schneider, to ask for a lawyer and to not provide a statement. Schneider then stated, “this happened on Ocean Blvd”. Feinberg then started to interrupt me attempting to get a statement from Schneider. Schneider stated she did not want a lawyer and agreed to provide a sworn recorded statement. The following is a synopsis and not verbatim.
Schneider stated she has lived in south Florida for approximately 5 years. She has known Cament for approximately four years through following a band called Crazy Fingers who is a local cover band. The night before on 09/12/2023, Feinberg and Schneider went to the Funky Biscuit bar in Boca Raton and later went to Fat Cats. At some point they met up with their friend, Mark Anderson. After they left the bar, Anderson invited Schneider and Feinberg to his timeshare apartment. Schneider drove Feinberg’s car to Berkshire by the sea located at 126 N Ocean Blvd APT 132 Delay Beach. Feinberg was in the passenger seat and Anderson was in the back seat.
Along the way, Camentz called Feinberg and asked if they were doing anything tonight. Feinberg invited Cament to Anderson’s apartment as they were going to continue drinking and go to the hot tub. According to Schneider, Anderson was okay with Camentz coming as Schneider was also going to be inviting some of her female friends to come hang out. Schneider stated Anderson had never wet Camentz before tonight. When Camentz arrived, he was invited into the apartment where he was offered a Stella beer, which according to Schneider, is the only beer that Anderson drinks. Schneider then wanted to start heading to the hot tub, so she asked Anderson to grab some towels. Schneider stated that Feinberg and Camentz were standing near the front door. Schneider went to the back patio of the apartment to grab a towel and she saw Anderson go into his room. When she was walking back from the patio, she observed Anderson walk out of his room, extend both of his hands out in front of him while holding a black object pointed at Camentz.
Schneider then heard a loud “BOOM* which sounded like an explosion. She then saw both Cament and Feinberg fall to the ground, and she ran over to see what happened. Feinberg got up and stated he hit his head on the ground and Camentz stated he was not able to breathe and felt something in his chest. Schneider did not see where Anderson went and did not see him for the rest of the time she was there. Schneider walked down to grab Feinberg’s car since Feinberg stated they needed to leave. Camentz was leaning against the balcony wall outside of apartment 132 for approximately 15 minutes before he was able to get up, take the elevator down, and walk to the rear seat of Feinberg’s car. Schneider stated she did not notice any blood or any holes on Camentz’s shirt and thought he might be having a cardiac arrest Schneider stated the shot was so loud that it scared everyone. At one point during the statement, Schneider plainly stated “Mark shot Al”.
Schneider started to drive to DM but Cament stated he was feeling better and just wanted to spend the night at Schneider’s home. Schneider decided to drive home to Petunia Rd. Once they arrived, Camentz walked inside the home and sat on the couch. Schneider stated Camentz became pale white and was complaining of chest pain. Fearing that Camentz was suffering from cardiac arrest, she called 911 at approximately 0245 hours.
Towards the end of the statement, Schneider showed me a picture of Mark Anderson’s Facebook page. Schneider described Anderson as being a white male approximately 47 years old, skinny build approximately 160-170 lbs., 5’10 to 6°0 tall, long blonde hair, blue eyes, last seen wearing eyeglasses, a white tank top, and dark shorts.
Schneider responded to the Delay Beach Police Department where she was presented with a photographic line up of Anderson by Detective K. Bolanos, a blind administrator. The line-up consisted of 5 filler photos and one photo of Anderson. When Schneider opened the opened the folder of the photographic line-up, she instantly and without hesitation pointed to the person in position 2. It should be noted that the person in position 2 is Mark Anderson DOB: 04/30/1978. Schneider also wrote on the photographic line-up form that the person in position 2 “aimed & shot” Albert Canentz. After the line-up was administered, I spoke with Schneider again and she provided me with Anderson”s phone number as being (redacted).
On September 13, 2023, officers and detectives responded to 126 N Ocean Blvd APT 132. This apartment is on the third floor. Directly across from Apt 132, officers noticed what appeared to be a blood smear on the inside of the balcony wall. Due to the uncertainty of any potential remaining victims, officers entered the apartment using a key provided by the property manager. Upon making entry, Detective Kinney made contact with a white male who was sleeping in the bedroom of the unit. Detective Kinney called the male out of the unit at which time Detective Sargent took control of him. Once the male was secured, Detective’s Kinney, Sargent and Grammatico cleared the unit where no other occupants were found. The male was later identified as Mark Anderson. In plain view in the common area, detectives observed black handgun in a black holster which was in a wicker basket on top of a coffee table along the west wall. Next to this handgun was a pair of shorts, belt, and shirt. All items were undisturbed and left in the original places they were observed. All officers exited the residence, and the front door was secured.
Anderson was transported to the Delay Beach Department’s Temporary Holding Facility. Anderson was then escorted to the DBPD conference room. I read Anderson his Miranda Warnings at which time Anderson stated he would like to speak to a lawyer and not provide a statement. I immediately ceased the interview and Anderson was escorted back to the THF.
On September 13th, 2023, at approximately 1330 hours, a residential search warrant, approved by the Honorable Judge Scherr, was executed at 126 N Ocean Blvd Apt 132 Delray Beach PL, 33483. This is a small apartment with a kitchen, one bedroom, one bathroom, a balcony patio, and conjoined living room and dining room. On the inside of the balcony wall outside of the apartment, there were three separate areas with what appeared to be blood smears. Crime Scene swabbed the three spots. I located a black firearm in a holster, in a wicker basket on top of a coffee table inside pf the living room area. The firearm had a magazine inserted, one round in the chamber of the firearm, and 4 rounds in the 6-round magazine. Located in the apartment was suspected powder cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and numerous alcohol bottles. Correspondence for Mark Anderson was also located in the apartment.
There was a single pair of dark gray shorts on the desk next to where the firearm was found. These shorts match the description given by Schneider of the shorts that Anderson was wearing.
Palm Beach County Medical Examiner Forensic Supervisor Ralph Saccone advised that Dr Tops discovered during his examinations that the round struck Camentz front to back with the round hitting his heart, liver, and stomach. The projectile was described by Dr Tops as an R. I. P. Round. Detective Kinney assisted with retrieving surveillance footage from the Berkshire by the Sea. Although the surveillance footage did not capture the shooting, the areas that were captured were consistent with Schneider’s statement. Based on the above stated facts, probable cause exists to charge the defendant, Mark Anderson, with first degree murder per P. S. S. 782.04 (1) (A) (1).
