Restaurants at Boca Grove Country Club and Stonebridge Country Club received multiple violations during recent inspections by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Two Boca Raton Country Clubs faced numerous violations during health inspections conducted over the past week by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Neither restaurant was ordered to shut, but both required follow-up inspections. Boca Grove’s second inspection took place and was acceptable. The second Stonebridge Country Club inspection is pending as of Sunday.

BOCA GROVE HONEYBELL CAFE

High Priority – Stop Sale issued on time/temperature control for safety food due to temperature abuse. Time/temperature control for safety food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. In the walk in cooler, sour cream (47F – Cold Holding); milk (47F – Cold Holding); pasta (47F – Cold Holding); melon (47F – Cold Holding). The items were stored in the cooler overnight. The items were not prepped or portioned today. The items were discarded. See Stop Sale.

STONEBRIDGE COUNTRY CLUB

High Priority – Observed: Single-use gloves not changed as needed after changing tasks or when damaged or soiled. Main kitchen salad station observed employee opened soiled reach in cooler door and returned to prep table and started to cut ready to eat onions with same gloves no hand wash. Warning Priority: High Priority

High Priority – Observed: Live, small flying insects in kitchen, food preparation area, food storage area and/or bar area. Main kitchen salad station observed 6 live flying insects flying around and landing on container of oil at dry storage food shelf. Pasty station- observed 5 live flying insects landing on containers of syrup on pastry shelf. Pastry station prep shelf- observed 2 live flying insect landing on squeeze bottle of chocolate syrup. Pastry station prep table- observed 2 live flying insects flying over mixing bowl with whipped cream inside. Main kitchen prep table across from ovens- observed 2 live flying insects landing on vitamix. Warning Priority: High Priority

High Priority – Observed: Employee touched soiled apron/clothes and then engaged in food preparation, handled clean equipment or utensils, or touched unwrapped single-service items without washing hands. Main kitchen pasty station- observed employee rub bare hands on apron, grabs clean plates, take to pasty prep table, put on gloves, prepare to put ready to eat pastries on plates without washing hands. Warning Priority: High Priority

Basic – Observed: Employee beverage container on a food preparation table or over/next to clean equipment/utensils. Main kitchen prep table in pastry area- observed employee water bottle on prep table. Salad station- observed employee cups of beverages on cold holding unit expo line next to clean service plates. Warning Priority: Basic

Basic – Observed: Clean glasses, cups, bowls, plates, pots and pans not stored inverted or in a protected manner. Cook line expo shelf observed plates being stored not inverted. Warning Priority: Basic

Basic – Observed: Buildup of food debris/soil residue on equipment door handles. Main kitchen salad station- observed reach in cooler door handles soiled. Warning Priority: Basic

Basic – Observed: Accumulation of black/green mold-like substance in the interior of the ice machine/bin. Observed mold-like substance on top of interior of ice machine. Warning Priority: Basic

Basic – Observed: Wet wiping cloths used for occasional spills on equipment food- and nonfood-contact surfaces not clean. Main kitchen prep table at combi oven- observed soiled wiping cloths on prep table. Employee removed wiping cloths. Corrected On-Site Warning Priority: Basic

Neither Boca Grove nor Stonebridge’s inspections required restaurant closures.
