Arrest In Boynton Beach Kidnapping, Car Theft That Ended In Boca Raton

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The man who allegedly stole a car in Boynton Beach earlier this week — only to find a child inside who he left at a Residence Inn in Boca Raton before ditching the car at Town Center Mall — is now in custody. Boynton Beach Police issued this statement to BocaNewsNow.com.

The Boynton Beach Police Department is pleased to report the successful apprehension of Ahmadis Hernandez, 33, in relation to the theft of a vehicle containing a toddler. This incident took place at the Mobil Gas Station located at 850 W. Gateway Blvd. on
October 17th. Hernandez was positively identified with the help of witnesses and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Subsequently, detectives secured an arrest warrant, and the United States Marshal’s Service Fugitive Task Force took him into custody on October
18th.

Hernandez is now facing charges of Kidnapping, Grand Theft Auto, and Grand Theft. This arrest was made possible through the collaborative efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Boca Raton Police Department, Palm Beach County
Sheriff’s Office, and United States Marshal’s Service.
