Palm Beach County Fire Rescue will host a large-scale training drill involving multiple public safety agencies. PBCFR is asking the media to please let the public know they will see a large fire rescue and law enforcement presence in the area.
Where: Currie Park, 2400 N. Flagler Drive, West Palm Beach. Also to include the Intracoastal Waterway in the general area of Currie Park.
When: Monday through Thursday, October 30, 31, November 1 and 2, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
What to expect: This will be a multi-agency drill simulating an Open Water Incident. Marine units including boats, PRWC (Jet-Skis), and helicopters flying low to the water are to be expected to be operating in and over the Intracoastal Waterway. Personnel will be deployed into the water, along with simulated victims during the drills.
This drill will be seen and heard by those in the Town of Palm Beach and West Palm Beach near the Intracoastal waterway.
Currie Park and the Currie Park Boat Ramp will remain open to the public. For those who use the Currie Park Boat Ramp, additional time may be needed to launch and recover your vessels.
The area north of the boat ramp and the northernmost boat ramp will have limited access. The eastern shoreline of Currie Park between Picadily Street and 23rd Street will also have limited access during these drills.
