BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — DEVELOPING AT 11 a.m. — Traffic northbound on the Florida is slowed in the area of Glades Road as a murder suspect is being taken into custody.

BocaNewsNow.com, accessing cameras in the area, confirms that Florida Highway Patrol and Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies are on the scene. We’ve learned a suspect wanted in Broward County led deputies on a chase which ended in the area of Glades Road.

It was not immediately clear who was taken into custody, or who that person is accused of killing in Broward County.

Expect delays in the area into the afternoon. Check back for updates.

UPDATE: We are unclear if this is related or not, but BSO shared this advisory a short time after the suspect in Boca Raton was apprehended. We are still waiting for clarification as of 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

“Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit are investigating a shooting that killed a woman and injured a man in Dania Beach Friday night. 

At approximately 9 p.m. on Dec. 15, Broward Regional Communications received reports of a shooting near the intersection of Southwest 12th Avenue and Stirling Road. BSO deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded. On scene, emergency crews located a male and a female suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported both victims to a nearby hospital for treatment. The female was later pronounced deceased by medical staff.

Investigators with BSO Crime Scene and Homicide Units also responded to investigate. 

According to detectives, the preliminary investigation revealed the victims were sitting in a vehicle at a red light when another car pulled up and began shooting at the vehicle the victims were in.
