Mercedes And Motorcycle Collide In Deerfield Beach.

BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A man is dead and another the subject of an investigation after a motorcycle and a Mercedes collide in Deerfield Beach. The Broward Sheriff’s Office issued this statement to BocaNewsNow.com:
The Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist in Deerfield Beach on Tuesday, Dec. 19.
The preliminary on-scene investigation revealed at approximately 9 p.m. that day, Lech Podowski was in a 2007 Mercedes S550 sedan in the westbound lanes of Sample Road and South Dixie Highway. At the same time, an adult male on a 2004 Kawasaki EX-250F motorcycle was in the eastbound lanes of the intersection preparing to make a left turn northbound onto Dixie Highway.
According to investigators, as the motorcyclist proceeded through the intersection he was struck by the Mercedes.
BSO deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded. Paramedics transported the motorcyclist to Broward Health North, where he was pronounced deceased at around 9:32 p.m.
The circumstances surrounding the fatal crash remain under investigation.
