BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Broward County woman inexplicably ran a red light on Christmas Eve right in front of a City of Boca Raton police officer. That officer gave the woman a gift in return — several citations and an arrest for driving under the influence. Jacqueline Vega of Whitehall Drive in Davie was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail just before Santa appeared, then released on her own recognizance early Christmas morning.

While the arrest report continues to be processed, citations reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com reveal that Vega is accused of running a red light in the area of 400 Camino Gardens Boulevard in Boca Raton around 9:30 p.m. She was stopped by the Boca Raton officer who was directly behind her. The officer, believing something wasn’t quite right, initiated a DUI investigation. As sure as Santa has a reindeer named “Rudolph,” the investigation led to a DUI arrest.

Police state that Jacqueline Vega provided breath samples of .159 and .156 — just shy of two times the legal limit of .08. The numbers were high enough for Vega to be charged with “enhanced” DUI.

Jacqueline Vega was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and released around 5 a.m. A court date is set for January 22nd. She also received a stocking stuffer of a ticket for running the red light. She can gift Palm Beach County $264 for that one.
