PARKLAND, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A bomb threat made to Kol Tikvah Synagogue in Parkland Thursday morning is leading a police response as of 8 a.m.

According to information provided to BocaNewsNow.com, the Broward Sheriff’s Office is on the scene and investigating the situation. Kol Tikvah is both a traditional Synagogue and a pre-school/early learning center. While school is closed for students who attend Kol Tikvah, a “winter camp” is in session, according to Kol Tikvah’s website.

The method of “bomb threat” was also unclear — whether it was called in, emailed, texted, or a suspicious package was sent through the mail.

Synagogues and other religious institutions have been on the receiving end of bomb threats, suspicious packages, and “SWATTING” incidents lately where police are called to diffuse a standoff that is not actually happening, resulting in a massive ‘SWAT’ response. Check back for updates.
