BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A 98-year-old man out for a walk was apparently struck and killed by an 86-year-old man driving a 2010 Mercedes GLK-350 in Boynton Beach.

PBSO says George Fortier of Summer Tree Drive in Boynton was walking near his home when George Rullman seemingly lost control of his Mercedes and struck Fortier who was walking on the side of the road.

“During the collision, the front right corner of (the Mercedes) struck Fortier, vaulting him into the air, and throwing him a short distance from the point of impact, to the surface of the roadway,” said police in a statement to BocaNewsNow.com.

Mr. Fortier was rushed to Delray Medical Center where he died a few hours later. The investigation continues. No charges have been filed.
