BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Two men, one a convicted felon, were arrested by Boca Raton Police after allegedly robbing the Pizza Hut on St. Andrews Blvd. Busted are Nikko Albanese, DOB 09/28/1992, and Sean Ortagun, DOB 06/25/1989 of Boca Raton. The official release from Boca Police police follows:
On Tuesday, November 1, at about 1:20 in the afternoon, Boca Raton Police officers responded to a report of an armed robbery that just occurred at the Pizza Hut, 21342 St. Andrews Boulevard.
When officers arrived, they met with the victim and witnesses. The victim said she was alone in the store and had just turned around to face the counter, when she saw a male standing with a gun pointed at her. When the suspect demanded the money, the victim took the cash drawer from the register and set it on the counter. The suspect took the cash from the drawer and walked out.
Several witnesses saw the suspect leave the store and walk to the rear of the plaza. Both witnesses noticed the suspect because he was wearing a grey bandanna over the lower half of his face. One witness saw the suspect get into the passenger seat of a green Chrysler with a tan convertible top and drive north behind the plaza.
Officers in the area located the suspects driving in a nearby residential area. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, Sean Ortagun, and the passenger, Nikko Albanese, were questioned. Albanese told officers he had no idea why they were stopped. Ortagun told officers he drove Albanese to the Pizza Hut, but did not know that he planned to rob the business. However, after the robbery he drove Albanese to his home and was driving him to the BP Gas Station when they were stopped. Ortagun told officers Albanese may have disposed of the gun on the property around his house. The victim and witness identified Albanese as the person who robbed the Pizza Hut and was seen running from the store.
Officers checked the property around Ortagun’s house and discovered a firearm near the air conditioning unit. A check on the gun’s serial number revealed it had been stolen in a burglary on October 25th.
Albanese and Ortagun are charged with robbery with a firearm, Albanese was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
