Banking Botchery In Boca Raton, Huge Check Bounces At Southern Bank

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Southern Bank uses the tag line, “Our Interest Is You,” but apparently doesn’t spend too much time getting to know its customers. Case in point: Assistant Vice President for Security Marie Woodward reported to Boca Raton Police that a customer deposited a cashier check to the branch at 900 North Federal Highway in the amount of $296,500. It turns out the check bounced and according to the police report, “the customer is now unable to repay the funds to the bank.”
