BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — An 87 year old man was pushed to the ground and robbed of his money clip and wallet at the City Mattress on South Dixie Highway. The man scraped his elbow and was treated by Boca Raton Fire Rescue. The suspect fled in a small SUV, possibly a Hyundai Tuscon. He was seen driving South on Dixie Highway. The man’s credit card was later used at a gas station in Deerfield Beach. The suspect was caught on camera.
The attack came less than two hours after a 75 year old woman fought off a man attempting to snatch her purse at the CVS at 202 West Yamato Road. The suspect got nothing, the woman was not injured.
It is possible that the suspect in both cases is the same person. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Elizabeth Roberts at 561-338-1327, or Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.
