BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — It wasn’t an organized group of highly skilled burglars. It wasn’t a ring of angry housekeepers. It wasn’t an air conditioning tech or cable guy secretly casing neighborhoods throughout Boca. Instead, Boca Raton police say it was 18 year old Kyle Rosenberg
Here is the very well written media release from Boca Raton Police Department’s Mark Economou:
It didn’t take long to figure out that multiple home burglaries and attempted home burglaries were being carried out by the same person. It started on Valentine’s Day in the New Floresta Community. Two incidents took place within the same timeframe. The first was at a home at 610 SW 16th Street. That’s when the residents were awoken shortly after 9:00 pm when they heard a knock on the front door. Not expecting anyone, the couple did not answer, and heard the knock again a few moments later. While calling the Boca Raton Police, one of the residents heard the screen door open on the back patio. Looking around the kitchen wall from the inside, the resident could see a male standing on the patio. The suspect left the area and got into a dark sedan and drove away. A Crime Scene Technician (CST) from the Boca Raton Police Services Department was able to lift latent prints off the back entry gate of the residence.
The next day, officers responded to 1500 SW 6th Court. That’s where resident Jean Flanigan said someone broke into her house the night before and stole jewelry and other items. It was the same timeframe as the previous burglary attempt. Again, a CST from the Boca Raton Police Services Department was able to find several fingerprints in the house.
On February 19th, just after 3:00 am, a resident called and said someone was in her backyard at 2741 SW 27th Terrace with a flashlight. The resident stayed on the phone with Boca Raton Police dispatch when the suspect got in his car and started to drive away. Responding officers were able to find the vehicle and pull it over. The driver, Kyle Rosenberg, told officers he was looking for a friend and was in the wrong neighborhood. However, moments later, Rosenberg admitted that he was looking for a house to burglarize. After being arrested, Rosenberg was identified through fingerprints as the person responsible for the two previous house burglaries as well.
It didn’t end there, on February 25th, a man taking care of his deceased aunt’s house found it broken into and ransacked. Alexander Amardo said that he has been taking care of his aunt’s house on NW 29th Avenue in the New Floresta Community since she passed away last July. He said he visits the property once a week to check on it and make sure it’s secure.

When he visited the house he entered through the garage. That’s when he noticed the door from the garage to the house was open and he could see items from the house scattered around. Most rooms in the house were ransacked and two windows in the back of the house were smashed out. The only room not ransacked was the master bedroom, because it was dead bolted. The drywall next to the door had a hole where the person tried to access the lock.
After a Boca Raton Police CST processed the house for evidence, multiple fingerprints were found. Those prints came back to Kyle Rosenberg, who was arrested a few days earlier for another residential burglary in the same New Floresta area.
In all, Rosenberg was charged with two counts of Attempted Burglary to an Occupied Dwelling, two counts of Burglary, Criminal Attempt and two counts of Grand Theft.
