BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — The main editor and founder of BocaNewsNow.com has spent the last year dealing with an issue involving a 2011 Ford Explorer. While we'll share more about that problem in the days to come, we have been incredibly impressed with the professionalism of Al Packer Ford in West Palm Beach. While BocaNewsNow.com is often critical of area businesses, we also believe we have an obligation to shine a spotlight on those who do the right thing.

Al Packer Ford constantly does the right thing.

From the first day that we discovered a problem — a serious problem that traces back to the building of the car — Al Packer's team has been by our side, working to resolve the issue, and ultimately, helping us convince Ford to do the right thing and replace the vehicle.

That transaction was completed today. And while the dealership was unquestionably caught between doing right by Ford and doing right by its customer, the Al Packer team proved that the customer comes first.

You hear auto dealer ads day in and day out. Some believe screaming at you is effective marketing. Others believe classical music and a soothing voice will move vehicles.

But at the end of the day, it's the professionalism and honesty of the sales professionals who sell vehicles that make the difference. We experienced nothing but professionalism at Al Packer.

This is not an advertisement. We are not being paid to say this:

If you are in the market for a Ford (or Lincoln) vehicle, do yourself a favor and drive up to Al Packer East on Military Trail, a little north of Southern Blvd. There is west location on Southern Blvd. just off the Turnpike. If you spend part of your time up north, Al Packer also has a location near Baltimore.

While a vehicle transaction lasts a few hours, it's the service and support that an owner receives over the life of the vehicle that makes a difference. There is no question that Al Packer's team is there when you need them.

We are impressed with everyone with whom we came in contact — and not one of them had any idea that this website exists. They helped because that's just what they do. From General Manager Gary Weil to Operations Director Rick Klotz, our sales guy Michael Downs to the finance and sales managers who worked with Ford to solve the problem, we say thanks. There are too many people involved to name everyone, but that speaks volumes about the service we received, and the service you can likely expect to receive as well.

While quality may be “job one” for Ford, it's nice to know that customer service is “job one” for a South Florida dealer. That dealer is Al Packer Ford.
