BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — In some of the saddest news to hit Boca Raton in recent months, the relatively new “Wicked Awesome Snacks” on 441 just north of Glades Road has been sold.
Founded by one-time television food show contestant, lawyer and public adjuster Paul Berger, “Wicked Awesome” quickly grew into one of the happiest places in Boca for folks hoping to relive their college years without actually having to worry about exams. The off-the-beaten-path comfort food combined with (and often mixed with) an incredible beer selection made the restaurant unlike anything else.
But now it is gone.
Wicked Awesome will come back to life with the arguably less awesome name, “Sybarite Pig.” The name is already in use by several other establishments nationwide, according to Google.
Here is the message from Paul Berger posted on Wicked Awesome's facebook page:
I am pleased to inform all of our friends that I have sold the restaurant. As many of you know, I was working 16 hours a day, 7 days a week and it was an impossible schedule for me and my family. Thus, I decided that it was best to sell the restaurant.
The new owner, Daniel, is a foodie and craft beer expert, and his goal is to make the Wicked Awesome location even more wicked awesomer. To that end the restaurant will be closed for about a week as he improves the customer dining experience at the restaurant. His plan is to expand the bar, add 16 beer taps, enhance the menu and more. All of our great staff plans to stay with Daniel as he opens the new restaurant.
Daniel will be changing the name of the restaurant to Sybarite Pig. Daniel will be providing more updates on our Facebook page as he readies his own Facebook page and other online sites. I do not want to spoil all of the great surprises that Daniel has planned for our guests.
I hope that everyone who enjoyed Wicked Awesome Snackbar will try Sybarite Pig once it is opened. I will be a regular customer at the restaurant and will see all of you there.
Finally, I would like to thank all of our guests and Facebook friends. It was truly a privilege to be able to serve you and have you as a guest at our establishment. While Wicked Awesome Snackbar was short lived, it was a special restaurant for me and my family. Thank you for making it so special.
