DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Delray Beach Medical Center today is announcing that Cheryl Wild is the new director of the hospital's progressive care unit (pcu).

Wild will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the cardiac telemetry/observation unit. She will also meet the diverse cardiac and pulmonary needs of the PCU to ensure service excellence to patients, nurses and staff.

Assuming the role of Director of the PCU, Cheryl will still serve as the Director of the Medical Oncology Department and Medical Surgical Services at Delray Medical Center. She will continue to oversee Medical Oncology and the oncology program, including the cancer committee. In these positions, she is responsible for managing the daily operations, budget and productivity within the department. In addition, Wild encourages growth and promotes education to her team, which produces results that mirror the national benchmarks in oncology. Before joining Delray Medical Center, she served nearly a decade as the Manager of Oncology for Research and Data at a hospital in New Jersey. She led the team to exceed industry goals and benchmarks. Wild began her career as a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Open Heart Recovery Intensive Care Unit.

“We are proud to have Cheryl oversee the PCU at Delray Medical Center,” Chief Executive Officer, Mark Bryan commented. “Her expertise in professional management over previous nursing units will be instrumental to our dedicated team of physicians, nurses and professionals at the hospital. Together, we aim to provide the most advanced care possible to ensure patient satisfaction.”

Wild received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Trenton State College. She holds a Master in Business Administration with a Management Distinction from Trinity College and University.
