BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — The annual holiday boat parade in the intracoastal between Pompano and Boca Raton is just days away — and all are welcome to attend, or boat!

Here are the specifics from the City of Pompano Beach:

North Broward’s most decorated event is just around the corner with the 50

th Annual Holiday BoatParade sailing this Sunday, December 9th, at 6:00 p.m.

Presented by the Greater Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce, this year’s event is starting early toencourage more families to get involved. The parade kicks off at Lake Santa Barbara in PompanoBeach and ends at the Deerfield Beach/Boca Raton line. This year's grand marshals are Gwen andRichard Leys.

Entrance into the Holiday Boat Parade is free and boats small and large are encouraged to participate –it’s not too late! Captains wishing to be in the parade need to register their vessels ahead of time for afree gas card and Lowe’s gift card to help decorate. Participants and sponsors will receive a gift bagfrom local businesses, including a commemorative ornament from renowned local artist Pat Anderson.

th Street Causeway and Atlantic Boulevard Intracoastal Waterway Bridges will belocked into the open position from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Throughout the parade, the HillsboroBoulevard Bridge will open or close as needed. Please seek alternate routes to and from the beachduring this time.**
