BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — South County Regional Park will play host to a fantastic elementary school event on Saturday, March 16th. Parents and students at Sunrise Park Elementary are preparing for “Sunrise to Run.”
Here's what you need to know:
The Sunrise Park Elementary PTA is hosting its second annual Family Fun Run, entitled “Sunrise to Run” on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the Pond Apple Pavilion located in South County Regional Park in Boca Raton, Florida. This fun filled day will begin with a 5K certified run around West Boca venue. Accuchip timing results will be used to track runners in the 5K race. Immediately after the official 5K race, there will be a one mile run on the park path for younger children and family members.
PTA President, Nancy Eisenberg stated, “This is a huge event for our PTA and Sunrise Park community members. This Saturday morning event will be jam packed with fitness and fun activities for the entire family! Sunrise Park families, community members, business partners and local residents are all invited to participate in the Sunrise to Run event.”
Beginning at 9:00 am, there will be a post-race party filled with face painting, music, tattoos, food vendors, a rock wall, a dunk tank, and bounce houses. Awards will be given out to the top racers in a variety of age brackets. The fabulous Sunrise Park teachers will also be hosting entertainment booths to keep attendees of all ages engaged and occupied.
Registration costs are as follows:
Family Price: $50.00 (this includes any event for the immediate family members)
5K Costs: Pre-register cost is $ 5.00 if completed before 3/11/2013
$30.00 beginning 3/12 through the race day 3/16/2013 (ages 17 and up)
$15.00 for runners ages 16 and under
Registration and packet pick up will be occurring through the following methods:
1) Online at http://www.active.com
2) The Runner’s Edge beginning 3/8 through 3/15

3) Sunrise Park Elementary School (just outside of the main office) beginning 3/11 through 3/15 from 1:30-2:30 PM only. You may drop off your registration at school anytime.

7:30 AM Official 5K Run/Walk
8:45 AM 1 Mile Kid Run
9:00 AM to 1 PM Post-Race Party and Carnival
