Shane Todd

A judge in Singapore has reportedly ruled Shane Todd's death a suicide.

Updated 12:15am Monday, July 8th, 2013 with family statement. BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Boca Raton High School graduate Shane Todd killed himself and was not the victim of foul play — at least that's what a judge in Singapore has ruled.

The decision adds more intrigue and controversy surrounding Todd's death.

As we first reported earlier this year: friends and family do not believe the 1998 Boca High scholar and athlete who completed undergard at University of Florida and earned a Ph.D. in engineering at the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) would have committed suicide. Many believe he was killed while working on a top secret government project in Singapore.

From a petition asking the White House to investigate:

The Financial Times article “Death inSingapore” (Feb. 15, 2013) sets forth shocking facts about thesuspicious death of a young American, Shane Todd, PhD in Singapore on June 24, 2012. Shane told his family his life was in jeopardy from foreign parties who had used his work on gallium nitride (GaN)amplifiers to compromise US national security and who might kill himto keep him from talking to US authorities. Shane was found hanged inhis apartment the day he was to return to the U.S. The FBI has volunteered to assist the Singaporean police in investigating Shane'sdeath and has been turned down. This petition asks President Obama toinstruct the DOJ to investigate under 15 USC 1512(h) (the federalwitness murder statute) whether Mr. Todd was killed to silence him about Chinese spying.

BocaNewsNow.com received this statement from the Todd family just past midnight Monday morning:

Our hearts go out to the people of Singapore who have expressed to us their experiences and frustrations with the perversion of justice that pervades their country. From our own interactions with the police and coroner we have personally concluded that a staged suicide in Singapore will never be examined or ruled as murder no matter what signs there are of foul play. We wonder why the state was so unwilling to pursue an investigation of anything other than suicide while doing everything it could to suppress the evidence that pointed to the probability of murder. Our conclusion is based on the following:• The police and coroner stated that they never considered or investigated anything other than suicide as a possible cause of death. They did that in spite of the evidence of possible murder and Shane’s own expressed fear for his life.• The police did not secure the scene of death, follow normal police protocol or investigate for possible foul play. They never even dusted for fingerprints.• The police accessed Shane’s computers, opening and perusing them before they were secured by forensic imaging. Because of their actions all computer data has been compromised and is suspect.• The police would not give our lawyers and experts access to confiscated computers to examine the validity of the alleged contents.• The investigating officer lied about a multitude of events and changed his stories then accused us of lying.• The coroner never examined Shane’s body for any cause of death other than asphyxiation by hanging. He did not even check to see if Shane’s neck was broken.• Someone doctored photos of Shane’s hands and neck. We believe this was an attempt to cover up the obvious signs of foul play, the bruising on the back of his hands and the ligature encircling his neck.• The coroner enabled witnesses to lie with impunity at the inquest about the work Shane was doing with IME and Huawei that could have led to his murder. Evidence found on Shane’s external Seagate hard drive contradicted IME testimony that there was no joint GaN project with Huawei and there was nothing unique about the GaN growth formula and the MOCVD machine that they had obtained from Veeco• The coroner limited the evidence and testimony that our family could present at the inquest which had been promised by state officials to be an open and honest inquiry to determine the cause of Shane’s death. The evidence to support the above claims and our assertion that Dr. Shane Todd was murdered can be found on the website:www.justice4shanetodd.com
