BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (From Palm Beach County School District) — Parents getting ready to send their children to kindergarten will have an opportunity to learn more about their new school and teachers, meet administrators and visit classrooms during Kindergarten Round Ups at elementary schools throughout the district.

These sessions are a great time to learn more about a school’s curriculum and special programs, campus activities, school rules and regulations, and receive tips for transitioning to elementary school. Find out more information about upcoming school events on the district’s Kindergarten Round Up page.
Kindergarten is also an excellent time to learn more about the School District of Palm Beach County, and why the district’s schools are your best choice for an outstanding education:

  • Palm Beach County’s district-operated schools consistently rank among the state’s best, with 65 percent earning A’s and B’s from the Florida Department of Education.
  • In 2014, 84.3 percent of the district’s students graduated high school – the highest graduation rate among Florida’s largest school districts.
  • The district’s schools feature 279 choice programs and career academies – of which 15 are nationally recognized, and 14 earned international recognition for their outstanding programs.
  • More than one-third of the district’s 12,485 teachers have advanced degrees, and all teachers are certified by the state of Florida.

Parents can find out which school their child is zoned for based on their home address using the district’s School Locator. To learn more about about school registration requirements, visit the Student Registration section of www.palmbeachschools.org.
