BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — No surprise to parents of students at Waters Edge Elementary — the school is receiving top marks from the State of Florida. Waters Edge scored an A grade for 2015. Waters Edge received 85% of points possible for its review. Morikiami also received an A grade and 89% of possible points.
Addison Mizner Elementary received an A with 84 percent, Del Prado an A with 81 percent, Calusa received an A with 76 percent, and Whispering Pines an A with 70 percent.
Of note, 36 percent of the Whispering Pines student body is considered economically disadvantaged, 27 percent of Calusa is economically disadvantaged, 26 percent of Del Prado is economically disadvantaged, 20 percent of Morikami and Addison Mizner is economically disadvantaged, and — at Waters Edge — where golf carts occasionally get in traffic jams with BMWs on the car loop just repaved in 14k gold — just 16 percent of the student body is economically disadvantaged.
The only school in Palm Beach County with fewer economically disadvantaged students is “Palm Beach Virtual Franchise” which — by its very name — doesn’t really exist.
Other notes: West Boca Raton High School — even with the removal of its plagiarizing principal — earned an A grade with a 70 percent score. Boca Community Middle earned an A with a 63 percent score, Omni Middle received an A with a 72 percent score, and Spanish River High earned an A with an 80 precent score.
