BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Source: Coast Guard Auxillary) — The U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 54 of Delray and Boynton Beach is pleased to announce their monthly “About Boating Safely” Classes. The classes target the youth boating market in Greater Boynton Beach and Delray Beach. One-day seminars will be held at Oyer Park, 2010 N. Federal Highway from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the fourth Saturday of the month.
Did you know that Florida law requires that persons born on or after January 1, 1988, complete a National Association of Safe Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) approved boater education course prior to operating a vessel powered by a motor of 10 Hp or more? In addition these individuals must carry their course completion card and a photo ID while operating a powerboat or personal watercraft.
Please join us for these very informative and lifesaving classes. Classes cost $40. Registration can be completed by calling Sandy Meridy at 561-704-7440. Seating is limited to 30.

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, the uniformed civilian, volunteer Component of Team Coast Guard assists the active duty Coast Guard in all of its varied missions, except for military and direct law enforcement. These men and women can be found on the nation’s waterways, in the air, in classrooms and on the dock, performing Maritime Domain Awareness patrols, safety patrols, vessel safety checks and public education.
The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary was founded in 1939 by an Act of Congress as the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve and re-designated the Auxiliary in 1941. Its over 28,000 members contribute millions of hours annually in support of Coast Guard missions.
