HURRICANE IRMA: City Of Delray Beach Says Limit Water Use

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Source: City of Delray Beach) — Due to storm-related electrical outages at about 70 percent of Delray Beach’s sewage pumping stations, city utilities officials are asking residents in Delray Beach and Highland Beach to refrain from using water other than to drink. This would include bathing, toilet flushing, dish washing and running any kind of water that goes down a drain or into a toilet.
This public health measure is necessary in order to prevent sewage backups into homes. Officials stress that the drinking water is safe to drink. This is in effect immediately and until further notice.
