Nothing To See Here: Whispering Pines Fire Alarm Malfunction Draws Fire, Police

News Palm Beach County Schools

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Parents of students at A-rated Whispering Pines Elementary School in West Boca Raton are receiving calls this hour from school officials assuring them that all was — and is — fine following an unexpected series of fire drills at the school. A planned fire drill was followed by a malfunctioning fire alarm which automatically summoned police and fire to the campus. Both the fire drill and alarm malfunction required building evacuations.
Officials stress that aside from an over-eager alarm system, all is just fine at the school. The alarm created nothing more than extra time out of the classroom on a beautiful, last day of school before the Thanksgiving break, and a chance to see fire trucks and police cars with flashing lights.
