DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — The City of Delray Beach have initiate their hurricane/storm plan announcements. We are publishing information as it comes in.
As Tropical Storm Dorian moves towards Puerto Rico and the eastern Bahamas, it is unclear how the storm will affect Delray Beach. The current five-day forecast from the National Weather Service shows the storm bringing wind and heavy rain to Palm Beach County over the weekend.
We will continue to monitor the progress, strength and projected path of the storm in the coming days as we prepare the city for possible tropical storm conditions. We encourage our residents to review their own emergency plans to make sure you are also well-prepared.
Visit www.readypbc.com for helpful information that will help you learn your evacuation zone, know which shelter best suits your needs and the status of nearby stores and gas stations after a storm. Residents can pre-register for special needs and pet-friendly shelters. You can access a comprehensive list of essentials to include in your emergency preparation kit such as food, water, medications, first aid items, tools, baby and pet supplies and important documents.
Now is a good time for Delray Beach residents to sign up for the city’s Code Red emergency notification system. For more information and to sign up, click here:
