DORIAN: “Not Out Of The Woods Yet” Says City Of Delray

  • hurricane, News

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Source: City of Delray Beach) –Palm Beach County remains in the cone of concern for Hurricane Dorian, which is now a Category 4 hurricane. Despite the latest forecast from the National Weather Service showing Dorian moving north along Florida’s east coast, this prediction does not mean that our city is out of danger. Residents are encouraged and expected to continue to prepare for destructive winds, life-threatening storm surge and significant flooding.

The city is also experiencing King Tides, which mean that water levels will be higher than normal. We can expect heavy flooding in coastal or low-lying areas of our city. It is crucial that each resident properly prepares.

City staff continue to prepare for the storm, ensuring that needed resources are purchased, equipment is in proper working order and city buildings are secured.
