School Threats: Our Position On Reporting

News Palm Beach County Schools

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — BocaNewsNow.com is aware of a school threat that resulted in a Tuesday night robocall from a principal and increased police presence at school today.

We did not report on the incident.

Much like the position of most legitimate news organizations when it comes to bomb threats and similar attention-seeking events, we, as a matter of policy, do not report on these incidents.

We believe that they lead to more unfounded threats and only serve to increase anxiety.

BocaNewsNow.com will, however, report on threats when they lead to a major action: schools being closed, schools being dismissed early, a request from police for information, or the arrest of a suspect.
