BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Robert Boyden of the 21900 block of Pine Bark Way in West Boca Raton is being held in the Palm Beach County Jail without bond. He is charged with multiple counts of child pornography possession.

The affidavit of probable cause reveals that Microsoft allegedly saw child pornography in Boyden’s “One Drive” account and contacted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

We note that most storage services, ISPs and communication providers utilize software and and other tactics to determine if child pornography is being stored on their servers.

From the arrest report filed by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office:

“On January 28, 2020, Microsoft reported one of their subscribers had uploaded images depicting the sexual abuse of children into their OneDrive account. The user had a User ID of xxx and the images were uploaded from IP address 73.125.122.72. OneDrive is a file hosting service that allows users to store files in the cloud.”

“On April 9, 2020, a subpoena was served to Comcast Internet Services to obtain basic subscriber information for the IP address that was used to upload the files. Comcast returned subpoena results that indicated the subscriber for the suspect IP address was Robert Boyden with a service address of 219XX Pine Bark Way in unincorporated Boca Raton, FL (Palm Beach County). The Comcast account is still active. “

“On April 15, 2020, the Honorable Judge Debra Moses Stephens granted a search warrant for Microsoft OneDrive Account User ID XXXX.”

The same address that Comast reported the IP uploads returned back to.

On June 11, 2020, the Honorable Judge August Bonavita signed a residential search warrant for Boyden’s residence. On June 12, 2020, the residential search warrant was executed. Boyden was not at home at the time the search warrant was executed. An on-scene preview of Boyden’s devices was conducted. No less than 100 image and video files were located depicting sexual conduct and sexual abuse of prepubescent and pubescent children. Files were located on Boyden’s hard drives that matched the files from the original OneDrive Search Warrant. The files were located in a user folder labeled “RJ Boyden” and the hard drives were found in Boyden’s office.

Boyden’s wife, Amber Bramly, was interviewed and stated that only she and Boyden use the office. Further, that she had been warned by Boyden’s ex-wife that he was “into” child pornography bu she (Bramly) didn’t believe her. Based on the totality of my investigation and the evidence gathered, I find probable cause that Robert Boyden did unlawfully and knowingly possess and intentionally view 10 or more images of child pornography/sexual conduct by a child under 18 years of age. Your Affiant is seeking an immediate arrest warrant for Robert Boyden.”

Boyden was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 11:10 a.m. on Thursday. No bond has been set.
