BOCA RATON, FL ( — There are just a handful of slots available, but Gymnastics Plus — in a move that will be highly controversial — is offering a location for parents to leave their kids to take part in distance learning.

Is this exactly what schools and public health officials are trying to avoid? Perhaps. But it is an option for parents to consider once the school year starts, provided the Florida Dept. of Health and/or Palm Beach County sign off on the endeavor.

Here is the promotion being sent right now by Gymnastics Plus:

The Palm Beach County School District has announced to start the 2020-2021 school year with remote learning. We understand your concerns about your child needing supervision while you go to work and needing your child to stay on top of their schoolwork so they can continue to have a successful academic journey. Here at Gymnastics Plus, we would like to extend an offer of allowing your children to do their distant learning schoolwork at our facility and to allow you to go to work without worry.

Our Advantage Learning Program allows your child to be in a learning environment while being supervised by a coach. The advantage of this program allows children to be surrounded by their peers while following social distancing guidelines, but also allows them to stay focused on schoolwork. Our Advantage Learning Program will be accepting grades K through 5th grade ONLY.

The parent MUST supply their child with a laptop, charger, headphones, school supplies needed, snack, water bottle, and lunch. Breaks will be given to the children and will be able to spend some free time in our gym. For parents needing additional time, Gymnastics Plus will be offering an aftercare program for extended homework time, or you may enroll your child in one of our gymnastic classes.

Information regarding our fall class schedule will be out soon. Please note that our Advantage Learning Program schedule is still in the works and will be finalized once the school district gives a direct plan of school schedules.

There are limited spots available and reserving spots will be on a weekly basis.

Advantage Learning Program:

8am- 3pm

$45/day or $200/week

Aftercare Program:

3pm- 6pm

$10/day or $40/week
