Anti-Maskers, Conspiracy Theorists Send Threatening, Emails, Leave Angry Voicemail

BOCA RATON, FL ( — The emails came from New Hampshire. From Massachusetts. From California. And yes, some from right here in Florida. Like a dog whistle that only attracted the tinfoil wearing crazies amongst us, our article earlier today reminding readers that “Phase One” continues in Palm Beach County and that we’d gladly look at photos of violators brought quite a volume of hate mail.

The most concerning email came from someone self-identifying as “Jan.” “This is a communist tactic,” wrote the reader. “I’ve never worn a mask and I will shoot to kill anybody who tries to enforce it.” We’ve forwarded this — with additional information — to law enforcement.

“This is a communist tactic,” wrote the reader. “I’ve never worn a mask and I will shoot to kill anybody who tries to enforce it.”

The other emails were more head scratchers.

We think names like “Sueck Me” and “U-R Adick” are fake, but you never really know what parents are thinking when they name their kids. These are the people who emailed today.

One constant email: we are “Nazis” because anyone who would encourage anyone to report someone breaking the law must — well — be a Nazi. Keep that in mind when you see a drunk driver, a guy with a weapon or someone plotting some sort of terrorist attack. Apparently, if you see something, you’re supposed to just be quiet. There is a whole contingent of the population that believes reporting violations — civil or criminal — is the same as calling Adolf Hitler and reporting that someone may be Jewish upstairs. is Jewish-run. Trust us: saying that someone should wear a mask to protect others during the time of a pandemic isn’t the same. There’s really nothing more Jewish than caring about others. Wearing a mask shows you care about others.

Another constant email: anyone who tells someone to wear a mask is “communist.”

Wrote one emailer: “Yes, let’s encourage others to rat on our neighbors for not confirming. Sounds like communism to me.”

Another: “This is the type of thing the Gestapo did… f—-ing nazi scum.”

Someone else combined Nazis and Communists: “I thought Nazism was stamped out, but then Communism is alive and well in FL.”

We received lots of links to disproven theories, like COVID-19 is fake, Hydroxychlorquine is a miracle drug, Anthony Fauci created COVID-19 (thanks Sinclair Broadcasting!), and that is somehow or another part of a ”COVID-19 scandal created by liberals.”

One of the best emails: “Unbelievable. This is Nazi stuff. As soon as this Scam goes away, you’ll have to actually work for news stories.”

Scam. There are now 563,285 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Florida with 9,141 deaths.
