BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Breaking at 8:01 AM)— The Palm Beach County Classroom Teachers Association will call on the School Board to fire School District Superintendent Donald Fennoy during the Board’s Wednesday night meeting.

Boca Raton news first to report

This letter, just received by BocaNewsNow.com, is being transmitted this morning to all teachers and CTA members in Palm Beach County.

At tonight’s school board meeting CTA will publicly call for the school board to terminate the superintendent. CTA has tried to work with the current superintendent, but we have lost all faith and now have zero confidence that a righting of this rudderless ship is possible without immediate change.

The pattern of failed leadership and lies and deceptions (to educators, the public, and even our elected school board members) we have witnessed for months has stemmed from an attitude of indifference towards valid health concerns, refusal to consider fair working conditions, and a sheer lack of both ability and willingness to properly plan for the safest and most effective transition for back-to-campus operations. All of this can not be ignored or excused. Pretending these failings are not self-inflicted does not make them go away either.

COVID-19 may have caused the crisis we find ourselves facing, but the utter refusal of the superintendent and his team to legitimately address employee and public concerns is a second crisis. One of our own district’s creation and only compounding the dire situation we find ourselves facing.

In Solidarity,

Justin Katz

CTA President

The call for Fennoy’s firing comes hours after BocaNewsNow.com reported on a seemingly rambling, combative video message sent to teachers by the school district Tuesday evening.

Teachers, principals and even school board members have expressed concern, frustration and anger at Fennoy’s leadership during the COVID-19 crisis. The school system, by many accounts, remains unprepared for “in person” learning on Monday.

  1. Add in the teachers just getting over Covid that were just denied remote learning options. Basically the option to apply to teach classes from home was just to shut people up. Kids are going to have teachers not healthy enough to teach. This is a disgrace and I am glad my child is done with school.
