Whispering Pines Elementary Boca, Boca Community Middle School Now Report Cases

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — The Palm Beach County School District Tuesday morning confirmed 45 cases of COVID-19, with 24 employees infected and 21 students. This is a significant rise from the previous report. We note that we question the accuracy of the Tuesday morning update which may be underreporting the actual number of cases. BocaNewsNow.com Monday night published a letter from Boca Raton Community Middle School Principal Peter Slack confirming a positive student test. That test is not reflected in the current school district report.
BocaNewsNow.com is also aware that administrators are not universally following notification protocols. For instance, Whispering Pines Elementary School in West Boca Raton is reporting a case of COVID-19 but there has been no announcement made by school administration. Cases at other area schools, including Spanish River High School and Boca Raton Community Middle have led to email blasts and “robocalls.”
The sporadic notification is notable. Parents are now required to tell the school district whether their child will be attending “in person” or “distance” learning for the rest of 2020. Knowing where COVID-19 infections are confirmed is a vital part of making that decision.
Employees are infected at the following schools: Atlantic Community High, Banyan Creek Elementary, Binks Forest Elementary, Boca Raton Community Middle School, Boynton Beach Community High, Carver Community middle, Clifford O. Taylor/Kirklane Elementary, Coral Sunset Elementary, Del Prado Elementary, Diamond View Elementary, Grassy Waters Elementary, H.L. Johnson Elementary, Jeaga Elementary, New Horizons Elementary, Palm Springs Community Middle, Panther Run Elementary, Regional Office Central, S.D.
