BOCA RATON, FL ( — The Palm Beach County School District now reports 85 confirmed cases of COVID-19, and medical experts suggest that number is growing to grown — perhaps dramatically — over the next several weeks.

The school district Wednesday confirmed to significant new COVID-19 reporting procedures aimed at sharing infection information faster with parents and staff. You can read more about that here. Promoted as a the school district’s effort at transparency, the dashboard went days without updates despite text on the site promising updates each night by 11:30 p.m.

The latest report, which still omits several cases known to, shows a significant increase from the last update.

Among the standouts: Polo Park Middle School in Wellington reports five cases — two adults and three children. Whispering Pines Elementary School in West Boca Raton reports four cases — two adults and two children. Panther Run Elementary in Lake Worth reports four cases — one adult and three children. Turning Points Academy reports 3 cases — all adults. Del Prado Elementary School reports three cases — one adult and two children. Diamond View Elementary reports three cases — one adult and two children. And Clifford O. Taylor/Kirklane Elementary reports three cases — two adults and one child.
