Palm Beach County School District COVID Cases Skyrocketing

COVID-19 infections are surging in the Palm Beach County School District, and only a small fraction of the total student population is attending school in person.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Calusa Elementary in Boca Raton leads the school district early Friday morning with the most cases of COVID-19. The elementary school reports 12 cases — that’s up from Thursday. Ten students and two staff members have tested positive for COVID at the school.

Numbers are up across the board in the Palm Beach County School District, with 264 confirmed cases. The breakdown: 149 students and 115 employees. Slightly more than one third of the school district’s 180,000 student population have returned for in-person learning. Most students continue to learn from home.
