BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Tipsters tell BocaNewsNow.com that multiple employees have tested positive for COVID-19 at the Trader Joe’s location at 855 South Federal Highway in Boca Raton. A store manager told BocaNewsNow.com that he couldn’t comment on the matter. A corporate spokesperson did not immediately respond to information requests from BocaNewsNow.com.
According to our tipsters, the following information was provided via email to employees at the store:
11/29/20, positive #5: “The last day they worked in the store was on 11/27/2020 in the morning. The crew member did not have any symptoms while at work and got tested today. Because the crew member has been in the store in the past 72 hours, we will have the store professionally deep cleaned after closing time this evening…”
12/2/20, positive #6: “The last day they worked in the store was on 12/1/2020 from 12pm-8pm. The crew member did not have any symptoms while at work and got tested today. Because the crew member has been in the store in the past 72 hours, we will have the store professionally deep cleaned after closing time this evening.”
12/7/20, positive #7: “The last day they worked was 12/03/2020 in the morning and the crew member did not have symptoms while at work.Again, this crew member has not worked in the store for the past four days and tested positive today, so no overnight cleaning is necessary at this time.“
Employees tell BocaNewsNow.com that many customers are either not wearing masks or wearing them incorrectly — using them as “chin diapers” to quote “South Park,” or refusing to cover their noses. Workers at the store tell BocaNewsNow.com that they are afraid to express their concerns to management for fear of retaliation or firing.
We’ll update if we receive a repose from Trader Joe’s media relations.
