BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — If you wonder what no mask enforcement and packed restaurants permitting indoor dining can do to the spread of COVID, just look at Florida’s numbers for seven days. The state added 68,948 confirmed COVID-19 cases in just a week. Florida logged another 9,439 on Monday alone.

The death count in Florida is now a staggering 20,082. That’s an increase 79 on Monday alone. The positivity rate jumped to 9.64 percent.

In Palm Beach County, 459 new cases were logged on Monday with 11 new COVID-19 deaths. The positivity rate jumped nearly 3 points — from 5.69 percent to 8.19 percent for Monday’s testing.

The total COVID infection count in Florida is 1,143,794. In Palm Beach County, the number is 73,542. At least 1,785 people have died from COVID-19 in Palm Beach County.
