BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — A Saturday afternoon takeout visitor at Biergarten in Boca Raton (309 Via De Palmas) was astonished by what he or she saw when inside the restaurant.

As COVID-19 infections and deaths skyrocket, Biergarten Boca Raton at 309 Via De Palmas is not enforcing mask or social distancing rules.

A group of people, some ironically having just taken part in a funeral, were packed into the restaurant without masks. There was no social distancing.

While individuals still can not be fined or cited for mask violations in Florida due to an executive order from Gov. Ron DeSantis, restaurants certainly can.

What are reported as funeral-goers packed Biergarten in Boca Raton Saturday without masks or social distancing. Palm Beach County may investigate.

Whether Palm Beach County’s COVID Education and Compliance Team will take action is unclear. The photos — and additional evidence obtained by BocaNewsNow.com — do suggest the violations are verifiable and that restaurant personnel looked on as patrons violated rules and guidelines.

If you see violations, contact the CECT at 561-24-COVID. Please also let us know by using the form, below. If you are reading in an app and the form does not appear, just click here.

  1. Whoever took these pictures need to get a life. As if the hospitality business hasn’t been hurt enough. Obviously, the person who took this picture doesn’t have to work in this industry and know what a difficult time this has been for them. No one forced these people in the picture to be out. Stay home if you don’t feel safe. Shame on you Boca News for posting such a potentially hurtful picture for a local business.

ED NOTE: The business should be shut down for permitting this to happen. We are sure that Palm Beach County officials have seen the photos and will take appropriate action. Even if individuals can’t be fined, businesses can. We look forward to reporting when Biergarten gets fined for violating executive orders in effect, and more importantly, common sense.

  2. I just had a kidney transplant and I can’t just sit and stare at 4 walls, what I can do is wear a mask just like everyone one should. I am in an industry where my job was shut down we still were masks as not to give anyone we care about a possibility of catching Covid. I love this restaurant but I can’t go if this is the situation. I literally just lost a friend because of this virus. You want to tell her family she shouldn’t have been out? This virus is real. She wore a mask. It can be spread from people who don’t wear masks.
