BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — The Palm Beach County School District has already logged at least 467 new cases of COVID-19 since school resumed on January 4th. The number is likely higher, as there is often a multi-day lag between when cases being recorded and announced.
As we’ve reported, roughly 15,000 additional students are expected to return to classroom learning in early February, raising concerns over social distancing. While the total number of students taking part in “brick and mortar” learning will still be below the 50-percent mark, parents tell BocaNewsNow.com that they are already concerned with what they are seeing on Google Meets — desks too close together in several classrooms.
At least 1,735 COVID-19 cases are now on the books in the Palm Beach County School District, with 985 students and 750 employees testing positive since mid-September.
