BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Publix is no longer the only game in town when it comes to COVID-19 vaccines. Walmart, Winn-Dixie and Sam’s Club are now joining the mix.

But in typical Florida fashion, you have to make an appointment for each location — there is no central clearinghouse for COVID-19 shots at stores. So while you’re anxiously trying to book an appointment online at Publix on Wednesday and Friday mornings, you can also open a browser to see what is happening at Walmart, Sam’s Club and Winn-Dixie.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Tuesday announced the additional retail locations.
“Florida is proud to partner with Walmart and other retailers, including Publix, to expand access to the COVID-19 vaccine,” said Governor DeSantis at an event in Jacksonville.“Through the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program, we look forward to reaching more Floridians and ensuring that all eligible residents who want a vaccine are able to receive one. We will continue to utilize strategic partnerships and identify innovative ways to get more shots in arms and put Florida’s Seniors First.”
