When asked what she was doing, Boca Raton police says she lunged at an officer and grabbed his bicep.
Bonnie Duffrin, 59, of the 1600 block of North Water Street in Milwaukee was jailed after the bizarre incident which was documented by Boca Raton Police Officer Andrew Bohan in his narrative.
“Officer Riccardi and I arrived on scene and made contact with Duffrin who was stumbling with two half empty wine bottles on the hood of the vehicle and red wine stains on her t-shirt. Officer Riccardi began speaking to Duffrin to gather some information as to why she was intoxicated alone in the parking lot of Whole Foods. She was unable to provide an answer and when asked where she lived, she said she lived in Wisconsin but refused to provide PD with a reason for coming down to Boca Raton. In plain view of her vehicle, Officer Riccardi and I were able to observe a hotel key labeled Extended Stay. I asked Duffrin if she was staying at the Extended Stay in Boca Raton, to which she replaced, “no I’m staying with you” she then aggressively walked towards me and grabbed my right bicep.
“I asked Duffrin if she was staying at the Extended Stay in Boca Raton, to which she replaced, “no I’m staying with you” she then aggressively walked towards me and grabbed my right bicep.”
Continues the report: “I removed her arm and have her a command to step away from me. She refused to step away so I took a step back. She then stated, “you’re pissing me off” and proceeded to take two steps towards me bowing up her chest and bumping it against mine. When pressed up against my chest, she said “let’s go, let’s go” indicating she wanted to fight. After multiple commands, she stepped back and eventually calmed down.”
But… “Officer Riccardi and I then continued asking her questions in an attempt to find her family/friends in the area to come and pick her up. She was unable to provide any information on family/friends that lived in the area. I stood near the front door of the vehicle while Duffrin continued talking to Riccardi when suddenly, Duffrin turned towards me, stated “what do you want!” then again grabbed my left bicep with her arm, squeezed it aggressively, and pushed me. I then turned Duffrin around and placed her into handcuffs while informing her she was under arrest.”
Duffrin was taken to Boca Raton Regional Hospital where she was medically cleared, then transported to the Palm Beach County Jail where she remained until being released on her own recognizance.
She was arrested around 10 p.m. on Thursday and booked into jail at 1:39 a.m. Friday. Duffrin was released just after 2 p.m. A court date is pending.
