Boynton’s Neil Goldman Killed In Bicycle Crash On Lyons Road

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boynton Beach man on a bicycle was killed Friday afternoon when he was allegedly hit by a woman driving a Lexus.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says Neil Goldman, 75, was riding southbound on Lyons Road right of the fog line on the shoulder. Bella Altman, 79, was driving her Lexus RX350 southbound on Lyons and “for reasons unknown failed to maintain (her lane).”

Investigators say Altman crossed into the southbound shoulder, striking Goldman. Goldman was ejected from the bicycle and came to final rest in the grass swale on the west side fo the road.

Altman came to stop south of the collision scene also within the grass swale.

BocaNewsNow.com first reported on the crash Friday when Lyons Road was closed between Atlantic and Boynton Beach Blvd.

No charges have been filed. Goldman lived in the 8200 block of Grand Messina in Boynton. Bella Altman lists the 12300 block of Cascade Valley Lane in Boynton as her home address.

The crash occurred at 12:17 p.m. Goldman was pronounced dead at 12:27 p.m., according to police.
