BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) (News App readers click here) — The Palm Beach County School District continues to report a significant number of COVID-19 cases among students and employees.
In the two months since school resumed following the winter break, 1,537 cases have been logged. Since September, the total number is 2,805. That means more than half of the total cases reported during this school year have been reported in the past eight weeks.
More than half of all COVID cases in the Palm Beach County School District have been reported in the past eight weeks.
The surge comes as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis — through his education secretary — is demanding that students take the “FSAs” — a series of standardized tests — in person later this Spring. School officials contacting BocaNewsNow.com say there is no way to administer a test with social distancing enforcement. The test will require all students — from third grade and up — to return to physical school.
Roughly half of the school district’s population continues to learn from home.
