BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) (11:36 a.m.) — The Florida Turnpike is closed southbound near the Broward County line, and traffic is backed up to at least Glades Road.
Florida Highway Patrol is on the scene of a crash.
Traffic cameras show a significant situation getting worse. Traffic is at a complete standstill heading southbound.
We are awaiting an update from FHP. It’s not immediately clear how many vehicles are involved, the nature of the crash, whether anyone was injured or killed.
For now, exit the Turnpike before Glades Road, use Jog or Military to head south until you pass the scene, then get back on the turnpike. I-95 does appear to be moving at or near speed.
