BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Donnie and Connie are siblings. But one is now in the Palm Beach County Jail while the other is apparently happy to be alive — let alone with all ten fingers.
Donnie Brawley, and sister Connie Brawley, allegedly had an altercation in Boca Raton that led to multiple charges against Donnie after Connie called the cops. Donnie is now in the Palm Beach County Jail, facing battery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, obstructing justice and property damage charges.
The police report, written by Boca Raton Officer Mitzi Mick, has to be read to be fully appreciated. We are publishing it in its entirety, with just a bit of redaction. While there is nothing funny about violent crime, we do believe this is the first police report that we’ve read where siblings have rhyming names, a cadre of weapons despite one allegedly knowing the other has drug and alcohol issues, and where a brother named Donnie allegedly attempted to bite off the finger of a sister named Connie.
This is the police report narrative:
“On My 20th, 2021 at approximately 2021 hours, Officer Timoney responded to [a resdience] in Boca Raton regarding a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, Officer Timoney made contact with Connie L. Brawley in front of her residence. She advsied that she had an argument with her brother, Donnie Brawley, about him staying at her house. Accoridng to Connie, Donnie and been staying with her for two to three months. She stated that during the argument things became physical and Donnie slapped and bit her numerous times. Officer Timoney observed a fresh bite mark on her left hand. Connie also stated that Donnie pointed two handguns at Connie’s head and pulled the trigger. Connie heard Donnie pull the trigger to the handgun approximately five times.”
“Connie stated she attempted to call 911, but Donnie grabbed her phone and smashed it on the ground. Connie also stated that Donnie smashed a mirror in the house and broke two wooden doors. Four firearms and one shotgun with miscellaneous ammunition were recovered from the residence for safe keeping and photographs were captured.”
“While officers were on scene interviewing Connie, Donnie left the scene in his Toyota Tundra in an unknown direction.”
“The following morning, Boca Raton Police responded to Connie’s residence (where she stated) Donnie has a substance abuse problem and uses ecstasy, cocaine, unknown prescription pills, and hard liquor. Donnie accused Connie of stealing from him and trying to kick him out of her house. The previous night, Connie stated that she tried not to do anything while he slapped her because she was afraid of him escalating and she only put her hands up to shield herself.”
“Connie felt that Donnie was trying to bite her finger off, and she was able to eventually release her finger from his mouth.”
“While Connie was bringing her hands up to shield herself, Donnie was able to bite her finger and would not release it. Connie felt that Donnie was trying to bite her finger off, and she was able to eventually release her finger from his mouth. Donnie then grabbed her cellphone and smashed it after she attmempted to call police for help. Furthermore, Donnie grabbed her by her shoulder and dragged her into his bedroom where he took possession of a silver pistol and pointed it at (the) center of her forehead. He stated that he was going to kill her whle doing so and was playing “Russian Roulette” with her, constantly pulling the trigger. Connie expressed to me that she was in fear of her life and belived the gun was loaded. Donnie continued pulling the trigger numerous times and then obtained a different pistol and did the same thing with that one.”
Connie eventually fled the scene and drove to a friend’s residence in Delray Beach, where she called police.
Donnie is being held on $57,000 bond and Boca Raton Police have requested that Donnie be held pending a psychological evaluation.
