BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A reminder to parents of students in the Palm Beach County School District: yes, summer break is only seven weeks.
BocaNewsNow.com has received a significant number of calls and emails from parents asking if the school district is starting the 2021-2020 later since the school year isn’t ending until June 18th. The answer is no.
The school system started several weeks later this year (2020-2021) due to COVID-19. That pushed the last day of school this year to June 18th — bypassing the traditional end of May closing. That late finish means there will be just seven weeks of summer break.
For the 2021-2022 school year, teachers report on August 4th. Students start on August 10th.
The 2021-2022 school year will return to a normal calendar for Palm Beach County, with breaks as expected. The school year will end for students on May 26th, 2022.
